Shannon Wells
With exam week just a few days away, summer is fast approaching. Our own, Shannon Wells, caught up with a few Clermont students to find out what they are looking forward to over summer break.

One of my plans for the summer is to work at my two jobs. I work at Shoe Department, Encore, and Marshall’s. I’m also going to be going to Tennessee. I like to go hiking and sightseeing. I always go to the Great Smoky Mountains – that’s my favorite.

This summer I plan to travel a lot, catch up with my friends, and work at my job. I have vacations planned for Florida and California. In Florida, my favorite thing to do is usually go to the beach with my family and hang out. I’ve never been to California before, but I’m looking forward to visiting my friends. For my job, I work at a daycare in Anderson.

I plan on going on vacation with my friends in June and mostly working and getting a new job. My friends and I are going on vacation to Myrtle Beach for a week. I enjoy hanging out by the beach. Right now, I work at Target, and I am hoping to be a PCA at a hospital.

Sophomore
Biology and Chemistry
During the summer I’d like to get a job in my degree field as I will be graduating this Spring. I will also be crafting. I like to sew, so I make quilts and clothes for myself.

Sophomore

Currently I am going to be taking a lot of summer classes to make sure I am caught up and ready to graduate in the Fall. In the future I would like to visit my friends in California. They live in San Francisco. I think that would be very cool. I would like to do anything with my friends that we are able to do. Whether that would be visiting Japan Town and other locations. The main thing I’d be looking forward to, if I’m able to visit, is getting to be with my friends. I am looking forward to the opportunity to be able to meet with them soon. Primarily, it would be really nice to play games with my friends and hang out at different places.

I’m taking a summer class in Spanish and then I’m going to New Jersey and New York sometime in July. I’m going to a sports card show called “The National.” Then I’ll probably go to the beach, the casino, and do a lot of other things down there. At the national, I plan to buy and sell cards and get some other things that I would want to keep for a long time. Beach wise, I’m looking forward to swimming in the ocean.

First, I am going to be working and saving up money this summer. In the mornings, I work at Home Depot and during the night I work at the bussing transit company downtown called the Metro. Also, this Summer, I’m planning on going to Kings Island and going swimming. The rides I’m looking forward to riding are Orion and Diamondback. The Diamondback is my favorite.

I plan on working and having fun at Kings Island. I’m going to go ride rides and surf, which is what I love to do over there. I am interested in hitting the water park and the rides almost all summer long. I would definitely say that The Beast and The Racer are my two favorite roller coasters. The Bat is up there, as well. I also like going swimming and surfing at Pipline Paradise, too, at the waterpark. I do need to give Tropical Plunge a try most likely, and maybe go over and ride Splash River too.

I am going on vacation with my family to Florida and I am also working on an internship here over the summer. The internship is a multi-disciplinary design internship. We will be working with different businesses to solve business problems. All of us are from different major backgrounds so we can give different perspectives. In Florida we are mostly going to be hanging out at the beach. It will be a very relaxing type of vacation. We definitely love swimming in the ocean. We always like to call the wave area the crash zone because we get smacked down a lot. Although I’ve never been surfing I have tried boogie boarding a couple times. I like boogie boarding because it makes me feel weightless for a couple seconds when I catch the wave. I also like to visit a chocolate factory in Florida. We have been there a few times, and it has been really nice because the chocolate is really good.

I am going to be working a lot, and here on campus. Also, I’m hoping to go on a couple of trips. The first one is in Aspen, and I want to go to a coffee shop out there. The second trip is a family trip to Universal Orlando down in Florida. This is going to be the first family trip we’ve ever taken and it’s going to be a lot of fun. I am excited. I’m looking forward to trying all of the food. I’ve only been down there one other time to Universal, so I’m excited to try out the food. I’m vegetarian, so I ate a lot of vegetables when I first went down there – veggie burgers – and every restaurant I tried was very good. I didn’t get to try the Hulk ride when I was first there, so I’m going to do that as well.
